GRAB Portugal 2027 will explore the beautiful coastline of the Algarve in southern Portugal. Shaped by centuries of maritime history and influenced by ancient civilizations, including the Romans and Moors, the region is known for its distinctive architecture, agricultural traditions, and strong connection to the sea. Citrus groves, almond trees, olive orchards, and vineyards fill the landscape, while fishing and seafood remain an important part of coastal life. Along the route, dramatic cliffs, hidden coves, golden beaches, and historic towns create a landscape that is both rugged and inviting. Lagos and Sagres offer a window into Portugal’s maritime past, while the quieter stretches of coastline reveal a more natural side of the Algarve.

This trekking experience is designed for those who enjoy a moderate pace (2–4 mph) and plenty of time to take in the landscape and learn about the region along the way. We’ll connect nearly 60 km of coastal trails between Lagos and Sagres, with a few additional side treks along the way. Daily distances range from 5 to 13 miles, with most days taking 3 to 7 hours, including lunch and breaks. Routes are intentionally flexible and may change based on trail conditions, group interests, and local knowledge we gather along the way.
